Roger Ebert’s TED Talk

Roger Ebert’s TED Talk

I just finished watching Roger Ebert’s TED talk from last month. If you have not seen it yet, I highly recommend spending 20 minutes it takes to view it. The talk is about how Roger was left without the ability to speak after a battle with cancer, and how technology has given him his voice back. The last 5 minutes of the talk are what really hit home for me. He talks about how the Internet has given so many people a voice who otherwise would not have one.

Many people assume that I went into technology as a profession because I was a geek who got a big kick out of it. They would be right. But the reason I stayed in technology is because I get huge satisfaction from knowing I am part of a revolution that has impacted to many people in so many different ways. Roger Ebert explained that in a way that only someone in his position could have.
